SABA – DEFINED
- National association of bartending professionals in South Africa
- Dedicated to the Bartending community who are passionate about the art of bartending, Flair & Mixology
- SABA is a professional organization dedicated to promoting and protecting the exciting career of professional bartending.
- SABA is an affiliate member of the IBA (international Bartenders Association)
- Responsible for providing the platforms for competition bartenders to be able to represent SA at the annual IBA meeting in the art of Mixology Classic Drink Making, and Flairtending
OBJECTIVES
a. EXTERNAL
- The advancement of the bartending profession
- The continued education of bartenders in South Africa and the regulation thereof
- To set guidelines for competitions in accordance with international rules
- To establish training workshops for previously disadvantaged communities
- To be the voice of bartenders in South Africa
- Provide a social network for professional bartenders to exchanges ideas
b. INTERNAL
- Recruiting of Members currently employed in the Bar Industry
- Build a database of these members´ details
- Align a set of rules and regulations with the International Standards
- Implement these rules and regulations for all National or Regional Flair or Mixology competitions
- Select Regional Representatives for the purpose of organizing regional competitions, flairclub and cocktail and workflair workshops.
- Host registered members for social industry gatherings on a regular basis
- Build and grow the bartending industry with strength in numbers.
